Overview

Scope TV ("ScopE TV", "we", "us") is a media player application for smart televisions. Scope TV does not sell, host, stream or provide any television channels, video-on-demand content, playlists or IPTV services of any kind, and is not affiliated with any content provider. This policy explains what data the Scope TV app and its companion web dashboard collect, why, and how it is used.

Scope TV ships with no channels, no content and no credentials built in. The app only becomes usable after a device is activated through the external web dashboard described below.

Data collected by the TV app

Device identifier (MAC address, and on supported hardware a Device Unique ID / DUID): used as the device's identity for self-registration and activation. This value is shown on the TV's Home screen so it can be entered on the dashboard, and is sent to our backend to create and look up the device record.

Playlist connection details (Xtream or M3U host, username and password) that you or your IPTV provider enter on the web dashboard: used solely to let the TV app connect to the playlist you chose. Scope TV does not select, host or endorse this content.

Basic app/usage state needed for the player to function (trial and license status, which playlist is currently active, continue-watching position): stored against your device identifier so the app can resume where you left off and show accurate license status.

Data collected by the web dashboard

Account details you provide when creating a dashboard account: email address and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).

Payment information, where applicable, is processed by our payment provider directly; Scope TV does not store full card numbers.

Devices and playlists you attach to your account, so you can manage them from the dashboard.

How we use this data

To activate and identify your TV device, attach the playlist you provide to it, and enforce trial/license status.

To operate your dashboard account and let you manage devices and playlists.

To provide customer support when you contact us.

We do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.

Data retention and your choices

Device and account data is retained for as long as the device or account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated device data at any time by contacting us at the address below.

Removing a playlist from your dashboard deletes the stored playlist credentials for that entry.
