ScopE TV vs IBO Player
IBO Player and ScopE TV are built on the same idea: a player you pay for once, with no content inside it, activated by pairing your TV's MAC address on a website. If you are choosing between them, the differences are narrower than with most alternatives — and the honest answer today depends on which television you own.
ScopE TV is a player application only. It does not include channels, content or a subscription — you connect the playlist you already have from your own provider.

Where IBO Player is the better choice today
- You own a Samsung or LG television. IBO Player is in both stores now; ScopE TV is not, and no amount of feature comparison changes that.
- You want to pay once and never again. Their lifetime option has no equivalent here — our licence is annual by design, but that is a real cost difference.
- You want the app on an Apple TV. We do not build for it.
- It has been around longer, with the track record that comes with that.

Keep your playlist details
Your Xtream portal URL, username and password — or your M3U link — come from your provider, not from the player. They work in any player that accepts them, so nothing needs replacing.

Install ScopE TV
From Google Play on Android TV, Google TV or a phone. On Fire TV, with the Downloader app. Samsung and LG are not available yet.

The app displays its MAC address. Enter it on this website with your playlist details, restart the app, and your channels appear. The first 7 days are free.
Questions
Which should I use on a Samsung TV?
IBO Player, today. ScopE TV for Samsung is still in development and not in the Tizen store, so there is nothing to install. We would rather say that than sell you a wait.
Why is yours annual when theirs can be lifetime?
The licence pays for a year of the app and its updates. A lifetime price for software that needs continuous maintenance is a promise we would rather not make than break.
Do either of you supply channels?
No, and neither claims to. Both are players: you bring a playlist from a provider you already pay. Anyone telling you otherwise about either app is mistaken.
Can I run both?
Yes. They are separate apps with separate licences, and the same playlist works in both — nothing about one prevents the other.
Is the MAC pairing the same thing?
Practically, yes. Both pair a device by its MAC address so you never type a long password with a remote. The difference is which portal you enter it on.
